I recall the first time I heard this passage was during a speech by Eric Liddell in Chariots of Fire. I was moved by the sheer beauty of the verse (Perhaps it was Eric Liddell's pronunciation of Eagles (Iggles)). Previously, when I was a runner, I used to recall this verse and the 23rd Psalm again and again which seemed to help push my mind through the fatigue of the miles.
